Colorado Proud!

Hello!!!!

Oh how I've missed you all! I love how I wrote three blogs and then stopped. I think I lost my enthusiasm for California so quickly, I didn't want to share my misery. Lol Buttttt, I've been getting lots of requests to fill you in on what the heck is going on in my life since it seems to keep changing, so I thought I'd use this avenue to catch everybody up. ;-)

I have no regrets about choosing the California adventure over the safe route and given the chance, I would do it all over again, but I am SO FLIPPING HAPPY to be home!!!!  Not that life was ever bad, but it was less than enjoyable there for a hot minute. September came around and I just decided to start making big changes in my life. I started working out and to date, I'm the lightest I've ever been in my adult life. I'm really excited to see the changes in my body and my energy level. I cannot get enough of the outdoors and trying new sports. I can't wait for summer. I joined an awesome gym and I'm on the right track to keep losing. I feel great!!!

Next change on the list, get the heck out of California. I really realized the things that are important to me and God and my friends and family are at the very top of my list. You guys make my life so happy. I've always known you were important to me and I've never taken that for granted, but I was so empty without you!!! I cherish you guys and there's a reason you're in my life. Every single one of you. Thank you for bringing the joy and happiness to my life. That being said, I picked a date and decided job or no job, I was moving back to CO.

Change 3, new job, STAT! Well this kinda threw me for a tailspin. I've reached the point where I have no idea what I want anymore. Between being laid off from the two jobs I loved the most and being so burned out from the one I was in, I literally had no idea where to go. So I decided to just let it go and see what I could find, whatever it might be. Enter Jodi Becker.  :-) Have I mentioned my awesome friends? She told me her company was hiring and I needed to apply. Next thing I know, I'm in Denver for an interview. I will NEVER forget the way I felt that night when I stepped off that plane. I felt AMAZING. I felt on top of the world. I didn't even know if I'd get this job, but I knew without a doubt that CO is where I belong and I was going to get back no matter what. I got the job and moved two weeks later.

Unplanned change 4:  I have been on cloud 9 since I got back to Colorado!!!! Home for Christmas, got to see my baby brother that I haven't seen in over a year, back with my family and friends, the Rocky Mountains are in my backyard and I had a great job.  Enter Shannon Rodriguez. Another amazing friend. Tuesday, email from Shannon, "Call me! I might have an awesome job for you!" She tells me about this job and I get goosebumps from head to toe. This job could not be a more perfect if they tried! Sounds amazing! Yes I'm interested! Tell me what to do next! Skip forward two days and two interviews and I have my dream job!!! What the HECK just happened??? Moreover, I go tell my current employer and they are elated for me! These people have known me for three weeks and are so excited and supportive, I'm in shock! I can't even believe this is all happening. So you've all been asking what I do. I work for an Event Design company, Eclectic Hive. We design and decorate corporate and private events with awesome props, furniture, accents, lighting, you name it. Its awesome!! My title is Design & Admin Assistant. Jack of all trades sums it up better. I literally do a little bit of everything, which is what I LOVE!!! I help around the office, operations, sales and design. My boss is freaking amazing. I really still can't believe this happened. I have this unbelievable opportunity to learn from a very talented designer and grow into whatever I want with this company. Yikes!!! I'm gonna knock this outta the park! If you want, Check us out!

I was walking around the lake this afternoon, soaking up the awesome sunshine, looking at how beautiful the mountains are, just thinking about how unbelievably blessed I am and how completely happy I am. I haven't felt like this in a very long time. Life is so good. Really and truly. I feel amazing. I love my home. I can't wait to see what the rest of the year brings. Now I'm just looking for my own place and hoping to move to Denver in June or so. Yay!!!!!  Pool parties here we come!!!! And, thanks to the help of my bestie, Crystal and my bro, I now have possession of my awesome new couch!! Heeheeee, I can't wait to have a living room!! Lol. A minor detail, but I'm on it.

Thank you for your friendship, love, inspiration and support. You make me who I am!!  <3

This song is for you all!  http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=nCf2PoTuh4Q

Love you heaps and bunches!!!!!!!

Welcome to South Park, CA!!

Hello there!!!!! So I've finally made it!!! I moved to my new place over the weekend!!!! I could not be happier!!! This house is so cool (100 yrs old), the roomies are awesome, the neighborhood is cool and I have nice neighbors (yes...I met neighbors!!! Go figure!!!!) I'm so happy. I Started lugging stuff the second I got off work Friday and didn't stop until 830 Sunday night. A HUGE thank you to my Squishy. You are amazing and I don't know what I'd do without you! I'm sorry for the grumpy panda I become when moving. As happy as one can be to move...moving still SUCKS!!! That being said...I'm finally here. Welcome to South Park! Not to be confused with North Park...gotta keep it straight. ;-) South Park has a feel of the Highlands and Wash Park. Cool old houses, restaurants, shops, bars, very urban, right outside downtown and only 15 min to the beach. :-). How can I complain with any of that?! I have a little bit of a commute now, but to be honest, I kinda like it. It gives me time to enjoy some quite, or call and harass my Texans and Louisiana buddies. :-) I miss you guys!!! Bryan said I should plan a trip for October when your state birds die off (seeing that they ate me alive last time i was there!!!) so pencil me in guys. So this weekend, I plan to become domestic again. Trips to Von's, Target, Home Depot and Bed Bath & Beyond are in my near future. I have to get some color on these walls...and curtains...yep, gotta have those...and rugs for the hardwood floors. Plus, I'm having shopping withdrawals, so this is a duel purpose domestication weekend. It's good to have a plan. Heehee I already got promoted at my second job..with a raise and everything!! Lol, I'm now the door unlocker AND locker...yep, look out people, I'm moving up in the world...and only after 2 working days on the job!! All joking aside though, I can't believe how lucky I am to have found this other job. He's already talking about giving me projects and extra hours which would be great for experience and for my wallet. It's almost like I'm actually supposed to be in California! Lol Weirrrrrrd I'm exhausted, so I'm gonna wrap it up for now, but I wanted to get you up to speed. Life is so good. I'm glad I'm here. Even with the bumps in the road, at least I have a funny story to tell when I'm old about the time I moved to California. Shoot for the moon! Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars. If you're not happy with something in your life, change it! Life is too short to be unhappy. Night night, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite. Love you, miss you!!! E

The Pink Cup

Hello!!! So is blogging like a diary you're supposed to write in every day, or just a place to vent/talk/dream, etc. when the moment strikes? I'm going to use it for the latter. :-) Until I'm told otherwise at least. So some good things are coming down the pipe!! Moving in a few days!!! I can't wait to have a place to settle into!!! And maybe have a cocktail party or something on the awesome Cali patio?! Yes please!!! Started a new part time job today! Just working a few nights a week making phone calls. Oddly enough, the president of this company knows one of my new bosses, AND this company does event planning!! Seems like every part of my life will revolve around events and hospitality. Lol even the new roomie works at an event venue. I love it!!! My job at RBI has been crazy!! I love it and I love the people I work with. There are so many pieces to it! I really wasn't expecting it to be this challenging, but i definitely welcome it. The days FLY by. I can't wait to master everything so I can relax a bit. It's only been a month, but I feel like I should have all the answers. No I'm not a control freak! Psh!! As-if!! How could you....Ok, maybe I am a little...don't rub it in... I made myself a sticky note reminder to just relax. Sticky notes have magic powers, so it's all good. Heehee And now for the pink cup. Sooooooo, my AWESOMELY, NON-AWESOME soon to be FORMER roommate seems to have an issue with my pink bathroom cup. I don't know what my pink cup ever did to her, but she really hates it. I came home the other night and the cup is knocked over. Weird, but whatever, I pick the cup up. 20 min later, walk by the bathroom, cup knocked over again. Strange! 30 min after that, poor pink cup has been knocked over again. Are you for real dude?? All I can picture is a little kid who wants soooo badly to pitch a complete fit and break something, but he knows he'll get beat for it, so instead he knocks a cup over just to prove something. Hahahahaha, ok. So I come home Monday night and the bloody pink cup is knocked over again!!!! So now, I'm on a mission. I think everyday from now until Sunday, I just do something to the cup. Velcro it to the counter? Put a drink umbrella in it? Sticky tacky it to the mirror?? I mean, I gotta play along at this point. I'd like to say this is cheap entertainment, but I had to pay rent this month, so it's not cheap!! Lol Anywhoodles, just thought I'd pass along a laugh. It's made me laugh at least. Gonna say good-night now. Meanwhile, Any blogging tips and/or rules are welcomed!! Along with ideas for the pink cup. :-) Hope you're having a great week!!! Love you! Miss you! E

Welcome to Hotel California!!!

So this is my new life in California. I thought as crazy as this has already been and since I'm away from my friends now, maybe I should try this blogging thing. So here it goes kids. So what brings you to Cali? Whelp, once upon a time...November 2011...I've been laid off from my awesome job in CO and find myself trying to figure out what I wanted out of life. Tired of being laid off, I did a little soul searching to really decide what I wanted to do. I've always been very good with events, I'm great with people, I'm free for adventure at this point in my life, so where do I go with all of that? With the help of a number of awesome friends, my family and some aqcuaintences, I started going crazy networking. Skipping forward, one of those emails finally paid off and I find myself deciding on picking up my life and chasing my dreams, or taking the safe route and staying put. Yeah...I'm not much for the road most traveled, so after lots of praying, and talking to people, I decided to take the leap and head west! 3 weeks to lease my Denver apartment, find a place to live in CA and move my booty to San Diego. That was probably the hardest three weeks of my life....well, up until I got here!! But we'll get to that. What better way to start your adventure of moving to CA than a stop in Vegas on your way!! So with the help of my AMAZING friend, Holly, we loaded up and hit the road!!! (that's all I can say about Vegas...you know what they say...) Rules are rules!! But we had a blast! So great to have such supportive friends in my life. Also, lucky for me I have an amazing family and brothers that love me...so my awesome brother BJ and my honey pie, Ryan loaded up a truck with all my stuff and brought it put to me. Thank you guys so much!!! I love you and I'm so lucky to have you!! So here I am, we got to CA safe and sound...and that's when the craziness began. Where do I even begin? Let me say this for sure...don't move in with people you've never met!!!! I know I didn't have a lot of time to work with, but holy crap, I've never felt so duped in my life!!! These people are INSANE!!!!! I can't get over it. So about 2 hours after I met these clowns, I knew this was already a place I had to get out of. Life is way too short to be unhappy, so I've been looking for a place to live since I got to CA. Lucky for me, my boss had a friend looking for a new roomie. Great news for me! So we met up and she's awesome, so I'll be moving in less than 2 weeks now. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!! A huge weight is already coming off my shoulders. I will finally be able to enjoy and relax and just live my new life. I'm so excited. My job is awesome!!!! I'm so Blessed to have this opportunity. I'm working really hard to learn as much as I can so I can make my way up the ladder. It's cool to have an actual career path now. I've loved most of my jobs up to this point, but I've never really been sure where any of them were going. Now I have a goal that I'm shooting for and I'm gonna do my darnedest to get it!!! That's the last month or so in a nutshell. Crazy people, home for Christmas, LA for New Years Eve, friends coming to see me and getting ready to move again. I need a nap, that's for sure!! I'll fill in the gaps of crazy in the days to come, but that's where I'll leave it for now. Welcome to Cali. Can't wait for the awesome adventures that are waiting for me. And I can't wait to tell you all about it. Love you all! Miss you a TON!!! E
